Regis Centre Development takes step forward following Arun Council Economy Committee decision
New £10 million plans for a ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Bognor Regis seafront have been supported by the council.
Potential plans for a new Regis Quarter on the town’s seafront have been supported in principle by Arun District Council’s economy committee at its meeting on Monday, July 8.
Speaking with the Committee Chair, Cllr Roger Nash, it does not appear that the Hothamton Car Park site has been considered in relation to these plans — in the original 2003/2004 Bognor Regis Masterplan, one concept was that the two sites (Regis Centre and Hothamton) would be considered in terms of cross-subsidy between them. Arun rejected a scheme by a developer which would have achieved this some years back.
